How to help us

You can help us by giving goods useful for the school, such as pen, pencil, notebook, eraser and so on. Our children also need clothes and shoes.

Please arrange the details of the delivery directly with Geoffrey.

We obviously need money, that are necessary to going on and to build the nursery. Our bank references are the following:

If you are willing to help the project, you may do so by sending a normal money transfer using the swift code and bank account number appearing on the web page. To help one child to access education, medical care, food and shelter, the estimated value is 1 Euro per day. If you want to identify with a particular child, just say your preference, boy, girl or age. It will be good to provide your email address so that we can keep you updated on the progress of your child. thank you for your help
A kind request: dont't give anything to begging children
My name is Geoffrey Chege. I work as a volunteer in  Watamu, Malindi district, Kenya. The work that we do is posted on this website and we hope to post more information for your benefit. Our major benefactors
are tourists who come to stay in Watamu especially in the hotel Sunpalm. We will eternally be grateful for what we are achieving through their donations. I am writing this message hoping you will understand
it as I would like you to, and see what I mean.
I simply want to sound a warning against giving our children (or even grown ups) things along the beach. I would request you to see it from my point of view.
The children may strike a picture to you that calls for immediate action. You may be persuaded to give money, clothes sweets, name it. Since you are
naturally inclined to help any body who looks desperate, you will give what ever they may ask of you.
That in itself is not a bad thing. What we are  fearing is what the kids will do after you are gone. Two things may happen:

1. They may decide they have gotten what they wanted and troupe back to school.
2. They may decide that it will not be of much benefit
going to school on empty stomachs if they could get it
so easily on the beach.
If you asked me to bet, I would think that the second option is more attractive.
Why work so hard to go to school if all you would need to do is go to the beach and, Bingo! the money is there.
Trouble is, that money will not always be available and not all people are endowed with that kind heart.
Others will give with strings attached.
UNICEF conducted a survey last year in Watamu and Malindi among other coastal areas. The scaring report they brought out indicates that our children are being targeted by pedophiles, drugs dealers, international
human traffickers, and other evil minded people. I believe it begins with the simple act of the kids begging along the beaches. SO, KINDLY DO NOT GIVE TO BEGGING CHILDREN EVEN IF YOU ARE CONVINCED THEY ARE
SURELY NEEDY.
Many hotels have philanthropy arrangements which you could take advantage of. And if you are reading this, you already know that our organization is capable of delivering your kindly donation to the very needy children in our area. We promise to do exactly as you request and send you the report. So help us to keep our children from the beach and the street and send them to school where they belong. Today's begging kid is potentially tomorrow's thug, junkie, prostitute or AIDS patient. If we keep them in school, they become potentially the true leaders of tomorrow. Education has a way of elevating the poor and making them proud, productive individuals. We need to give them a chance.
Thank you for understanding what I meant by  appealing to you.
Pease send us an email if you want to know more about our programs and how you may be involved.
